To Boracay Philippine Island

What a busy time we have had during the last few weeks all the way from Holland to Dubai, Dubai to Philippines then to Puerto Princesa Island in Palawan to another beautiful island in the Philippines called "Boracay Island". We had such a lovely time in Holland, our two weeks there just flew. After a harrowing mini van ride to the Puerto Princesa Domestic Terminal we flew Cebu Pacific Air to Kalibo. Then a crowded mini-bus to Catilclan ferry terminal (300php - $6.25), where we had to pay a 50 peso ($1.20) environment fee, a 50 peso terminal fee and 20 pesos for the ferry across to Boracay Island. Here we were met by a seething mass of commission agents who promised much, but in the end delivered nothing. Amidst all the confusion we ended up in a motorcycle side-car - with all our bags to be taken to boat station3.

About Boracay
Boracay is a tropical island located approximately 315km (200 miles) south of Manila and 2km off the northwest tip of the island of Panay in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines. Famous for its powdery white sand and crystal waters, it is a popular tourist destination especially during the summer and December holidays. Weather along the island is mostly sunny from March until early June with temperatures ranging from 82-100°F (28-38°C). Rains and typhoons can begin from July lasting until early September. During storms temperature can drop to 68°F (20°C).

Boracay Island

Boracay is a small Island (4km long x 1km wide), just about the middle of the Philippines. Boracay lays claim to the title "the best beach in the world", and frankly having been to many of the best beaches around the world we would agree. Crystal clear blue water, still water beach ringed with coral reefs - pretty good So, Boracay has been about swimming pool and beach, eating at a different restaurant each night (some better than others) and beers watching the sunset.
